Maintenance
-
During installation always handle the rotor carefully avoiding hits or knocks; small damages
in the rotor could cause breakage during centrifugation.
-
Check the rotor and adapters regularly to detect possible defects, damages, breaks or
knocks; if any damage is detected replace the component immediately.
To remove the rotor, hold it firmly and lift it vertically.
Avoid sudden movements.
-
Under normal circumstances the rotor should be cleaned once a week; in case of using
salts or corrosive substances containing samples, cleaning should be made after each use
as well as in case of spillages or splashes of the centrifuged solutions.
-
For cleaning the rotor use neutral detergents or a sponge or soft cloth and then wipe with
distilled water. Do not spray water on the rotor since liquid could stay or reach other
components and cause corrosion.
-
Use a cloth or tweezers to remove the solid residues from the inner chamber of the
centrifuge.
-
The motor shaft and the hole of the rotor must be well greased.
-
Maintenance of the motor shaft:
o
Turn the centrifuge on through the general switch and wait until self-test is finished;
o
Press button
to open the lid
;
o
Use the supplied wrench to disassemble the rotor and remove it from the motor
shaft; clean the rotor nut. Note: turn clockwise to tighten the nut and anti-clockwise
to loosen it;
o
Clean the conical part of the motor shaft, and then grease it well.
-
In case of breakdown do not try to repair the equipment by yourself; apart from losing
warranty you can cause damages in the general performance and operation of the
equipment as well as damages to people (burns, wounds, etc) and the power supply or
nearby electrical devices.
