11.2.1 Place the clutch body (109) on the bench with the friction surface up.
11.2.2 Place one facing plate (110) on the clutch body.
11.2.3 (14” HD (DP) and 14” HD (TP) clutches): Place one center plate (111), then a
second facing plate on top of the center plate.
11.2.4 (14” HD (TP) clutches): Add a second center plate and a third facing plate.
Note: 14’’ HD (DP) clutches (2 plate) contain a total of two 0 facing plates and one (1)
center plate. 14” HD (TP) clutches (3 plate) contain a total of three (3) facing plates and
two (2) center plates.
11.3 Install the release levers on the pressure plate
11.3.1 Place the release levers (123) between the lever bosses of the pressure plate
with the lug of the lever located in the boss and pointing outward.
11.3.2 Place a lever spring (411) at each position with the “legs” against the pressure
plate pointing outward. The “loop” of the spring will be near the clevis pin (409) hole
and the square end will be resting against, and on the outside of the lever.
11.3.3 Install a clevis pin (409) through the lever spring, lever boss and lever with two
(2) washers (412) on each clevis pin, located on the outside of and against the lever
boss. Securely install the retaining ring (410) in the groove of the clevis pin. Note: the
clevis pins should be installed through the holes in a clockwise direction so the head
will lead the direction of rotation when the engine is running.
11.3.4 Repeat 11.3.1 thru 11.3.3 to install the remaining three lever assemblies.
11.3.5 Install the pressure plate assembly on the clutch body, resting on top of the
facing plate.
