ADJUSTMENT
WARNING:
NEVER attempt to make any adjustments while the engine is
running, except where specified in the operator’s manual.
This gasoline engine has been carefully tested and inspected in our factory.
Generally, the machine will run normally without any adjustment.
After operating some time, it may be necessary to adjust the gasoline engine as
follows:
VALVE GAP
On the left side of the machine, remove the cylinder head cover, marked OHV
(
p, fig.12
), exposing the valve rocker arms (
r, fig.13
).
Check the valve gap with a feeler gauge (
q, fig.13
).
If necessary, adjust the valve gaps:
intake valve (
t, fig.13
) gap: 0.1 - 0.15 mm;
exhaust valve (
s, fig.13
) gap: 0.15 - 0.2 mm.
Grasp the valve gap adjusting nut (
v, fig.14
) and release the
valve lock nut (
u, fig.14
).
Turn valve gap adjusting nut to specified gap.
Grasp valve gap adjusting nut and screw up valve lock nut. Torque: 10 Nm (1.0
kg.m)
After screwing up valve lock bolt, recheck valve gap.
GOVERNOR
To adjust the governor system (large and small tension spring, throttle support, and
the throttle governor lever):
Remove the fuel tank.
Screw off lock nut (
aa, fig.15
) and move the throttle support (
y, fig.15
) to
completely open the valve (
x, fig.15
).
After moving the throttle support, opening valve and turning the throttle
governor lever (
bb, fig.15
) in same direction to farthermost position where it
can reach, screw up lock nut.
Check that the throttle support and valve move smoothly.
Re-install the fuel tank.
