2.4.3 Charging Rack
When the unit is fitted with a rechargeable battery, the battery can be recharged
in situ by placing the complete unit in a Multitone Absence/Charging Rack designed
for the unit. This will be one of the following:
A3RU Master Absence/Charging Rack
A3RV Slave Absence/Charging Rack
In addition to charging the battery, the Absence/Charging racks have the facility to
allow the unit to communicate with the base system. Thus, the system administrator
is advised which units are in the rack.
When the unit is put in an Absence/Charging rack, the unit screen shows a message
on the top line and a user number on the lower line, as shown . Both the message
and the user number can be changed by the system administrator when the unit is
in the rack. The user number appears on the standby screen as the ‘nameplate’
number when the unit is in normal use.
