Functions of the city ring
With the crown at 2:00 o'clock the bidirectional inner
bezel marked with the names of the cities (city ring) can
be operated. It is positioned on the outer side of the
dial and has two functions:
In combination with the gold-plated index at 9:00
o'clock, the city ring can be used to mark the time zone
represented by the GMT hand.
Turn the city ring with the crown at 2:00 o'clock
until the city name of the time zone, whose time
the GMT hand is displaying, is synchronized with
the index at 9 o'clock.
For example, if the GMT hand indicates the time
for Alaska, the associated city name "Anchorage" is
synchronized with the index. A triangular marking
belonging to the city name facilitates the exact
positioning.
