BacKPacKInG InstructIons:

stEP 2.  

Using  one  end  of  the 

backpack straps

 thread through and 

around the 

foot section

 (Fig. 2). With remaining ends of 

backpack straps 

thread through and around the opposite end of 

foot section

  (Fig.  3). 

Adjust for comfort (Fig. 4 shown fully packed on back).

stEP 1: 

Remove  the  secured  delta 

bolts from the 

v-brackets

 of the 

foot 

section and seat section

 allowing 

the  sections  to  collapse  flat  (Fig.  1). 

Then using the 

cinching straps/foot 

straps

 secure the sections together.

stEP 1.

 Gently stand up and face the tree trunk.

 allow the full-body fall arrest tether to get under or around your chin or neck. Failure to follow 

these instructions may result in serious injury or death!

stEP 2.

 Slide your feet under the cinching straps/foot straps. Slip the heel cord onto each boot heel as shown in Figure 12.

stEP 3. 

Disconnect the backrest cushion from around the tree.

stEP 4. 

Carefully remove the cam-buckle strap from the bark biter of the seating platform. Return the cam-buckle strap to the 

accessory bag.

stEP 5. 

With your weight squarely distributed on the standing platform, lift the seating platform by grasping the padded 

armrests and set the seating platform at about knee-level. Make certain the climbing cable and bark biters are in firm contact 

with the tree trunk.

stEP 6. 

Gently place your weight onto the padded seating platform rail portion of the seating platform (sit down).  While 

seated, turn your feet downward slightly to disengage the standing platform from the tree. Once the standing platform is 

disengaged from the tree trunk, lower the standing platform (typically approximately 8” (20 cm) to 10” (25 cm)). Re-engage 

the standing platform to the tree trunk by pressing down with your heels and lifting your toes. Make certain the bark biters 

and climbing cable are firmly re-engaged on the tree trunk as shown in Figure 13. 

stEP 7. 

Ease your weight back onto the standing platform, stand and slide the full-body fall arrest harness tether/tree belt 

down the tree trunk to about chest height.

stEP 8. 

Repeat STEPS 5 through 7 until you have safely reached ground-level.

 WarnInG! 

After descending safely back to the ground, do not remove the full-body fall arrest harness tether/tree belt 

until your feet are on firm ground. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death!

stEP 9. 

Once you are safely back on ground-level, slide your feet out of the cinching straps/foot straps and carefully step-off 

of the standing platform onto the ground and remove your full-body fall arrest harness tether/tree belt from the tree trunk.

at ground-level. You must practice installing, setting-up and using this product(s) at ground-level prior to attempting to use it at heights above ground-level. 

Once you have become thoroughly knowledgeable and comfortable with this Muddy® product(s) setup, installation and use at ground-level - you’re now 

ready to use it at heights above ground-level. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death!

 Make sure that you are wearing your Muddy® full-body fall arrest harness and it is still attached to the tree trunk as previously 

outlined in the “Climbing Up” instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death!

Do not

 bounce or jump on any portion of the climbing treestand in an attempt to seat it to the tree. Failure to follow these instructions may 

result in serious injury or death!

 adjust the length of the climbing cable or attempt to level either the seating or standing platforms at heights above ground-level. All 

adjustments must be made at ground-level. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death!
