Remove cylinder head covers (→ Page 151).

Install barring tool (→ Page 138).

Note:

Pointer (1) is located in the lower opening of
the flywheel housing (arrow).

Use barring tool to turn crankshaft in direc-
tion of rotation until marking OT/A1 on the
rear side of the flywheel housing and point-
er (1) are aligned.
