12.
Polarisation is extremely important. If it is incorrect, the rotor will rotate
backwards. Water will still flow off the outlet nozzle, but its flow will be
reduced. Correct polarisation is obtained by connecting the pump’s brown
wire from the side of POS or + of the battery. To check if the direction of
rotation (and polarisation) is correct, verify if the rotor rotates according
to the direction indicated by an arrow extruded on the bottom.
CAUTION!
Never put fingers or other objects inside the inlet opening!
CAUTION!
Note that the pump must not run dry for more than 10 minutes!
NOTE! Low temperature does not affect the pump. Note, however, that the
pump must not be activated if it is covered with ice or immersed in ice.
3.3. Cleaning and maintenance
a)
Install a switch monitoring the pump’s electrical supply in an easily accessible
place.
b)
Maintain and clean the pump at regular intervals. Lack of hygiene and
maintenance is one of the main reasons for low pump capacity.
c)
Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
d)
Do not clean with any sharp and/or metal implements (e.g. a wire brush or a
metal scraper) as these may damage the surface of the machine.
e)
Do not clean the unit with acidic substances, medical products, thinners, fuel,
oil or other chemicals as they may damage it.
