Placing Private Calls
From Private mode, there are two ways to reach an individual using Nextel
Direct Connect.
Entering the Private ID
Selecting a Name from a Stored List
NOTE: When you Direct Connect someone in a different network and
use Quickstore, the full Nextel Direct Connect number (the
Area ID * Network ID * Member ID), will be stored. When you
Direct Connect someone within your private network only the
Member ID will be displayed.

until you see Prvt Ready on your display.

Enter the Private ID (i.e., the full Nextel Direct Connect number).
The full Nextel Direct Connect number is three sets of numbers
separated by a “*.” The first set of numbers is your Area ID, the second
set is your network ID, and the third set is your Member ID. Simply dial
the full string of numbers to Direct Connect to someone in your local
Direct Connect calling area.

Press and hold the Push-To-Talk button on the side of the phone to talk.
Both phones will chirp before your voice can be heard.

Release the Push-To-Talk button to listen.

first initial of the name then press
