Using fresh coffee
beans

1 Remove the glass jug

‡

from the hot

plate.

2 Fill the glass jug with the required

amount of cold water, (8 cups maximum)
and close the jug lid. Both the jug and
water level indicators are marked in
cups. Do not exceed the maximum level.

3 Lift up the reservoir lid

by pressing

the release button and pour the contents
of the glass jug into the water reservoir

È

. The water gauge window

¤

indicates the amount of water needed.

4 Replace the glass jug on the warming

plate

.

5 Place the permanent filter

Ê

or a paper

filter in the grinder/filter basket

Á

.

When using the fresh coffee beans you
will only be able to make 8 cups of
coffee maximum.
To make fewer than 7 cups of coffee, use
about 1

measuring scoops of whole

beans per cup.
Note: One measuring scoop is
approximately equal to one tablespoon.
IMPORTANT: Do not fill above the max.
line of the grinder/filter basket.

6 Replace the filter basket cover/bean

hopper

‰.

7 Put the beans into the filter basket/bean

hopper

and replace the grinder lid

„.

Close the reservoir lid

and press

down to lock.
Note :Ensure the lid is locked otherwise
the non drip valve will not open, causing
the filter to flood. The grind and brew will
not operate if the cover of the unit is
open more than 1cm or the filter basket
cover/bean hopper are left out.

8 Ensure the glass jug is positioned on the

warming plate and that the filter has
been placed in the filter basket. Plug into
the electrical socket. The clock display
will flash ‘0:00’ until the clock has been
set. This will not interfere with the
operation of the coffee maker.

9 Once the water and coffee are in place,

press the on/off button. The grind LED
indicator will light.
Note: If you are brewing fewer than 5
cups we recommend that you use the
f programme to ensure full
coffee flavour. To use the f
programme set up the coffee machine as
outlined in steps 1-9. Press the flavour
button, coffee will brew into the machine,
serve as required.

10 After less than 1 minute the light for

grind will go off and the brew light will
show to indicate the machine is brewing.

11 When the coffee has been made, serve

as required. The anti-drip valve will
prevent any remaining coffee dripping
onto the hotplate. Ensure that the jug is
replaced on the hotplate after serving.
While the coffee machine is switched on
the hotplate will keep the coffee warm.

12 Switch off the coffee maker when the jug

is empty or the coffee is no longer
required. WARNING THE COFFEE
MAKER AND HOT PLATE ARE HOT AND
REMAIN HOT FOR SOME TIME AFTER
SWITCHING OFF.

13 Remove the grinder lid, filter basket

cover/bean hopper, permanent filter and
grinder filter/basket. Note: it is normal for
a small quantity of coffee husks to
remain in the grinder after use. Empty
used coffee grounds, wash immediately
and dry thoroughly.

Refilling

Switch off the coffee maker and allow 3
minutes to cool before refilling with cold
water for another brew.
