16. Remove the retaining nut (3) from the ground stud (1)
located on the upper radiator crossmember (4) and in
stall the hood switch harness ground (2).
17. Install the retaining nut (3) to the ground stud (1).
18. Route the hood switch harness to the hood latch area.
19. Connect the hood latch cable (3) to the hood latch as
sembly (2).
20. Connect the hood switch harness (1) to the hood latch
assembly (2).
21. Position the hood latch assembly (2) to the upper ra
diator crossmember and loosely install the two bolts
(4) that secure the latch to the crossmember.
22. Align the hood latch assembly (2) to the upper radiator
crossmember using the reference marks made during
the removal procedure and tighten the bolts (4) to 11
N∙m (8 ft. lbs.).
23. Using the supplied tie wraps in the kit, secure the hood
switch take off harness to the existing vehicle harness
located under the upper radiator crossmember.

WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint
System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor
or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) ca
ble, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service.
This is the only sure way to disable the SRS. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental
airbag deployment.
