Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable

Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge
before further service.

Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position
of the hood latch (1) on the upper radiator crossmem
ber.
4.
Disconnect the hood latch cable (2) from the hood
latch (2).
5.
Remove the two bolts (3) that secure the hood latch
(1) to the upper radiator crossmember and remove the
hood latch (1).
6.
Detach the hood switch connector/harness from the
electric cooling fan shroud and route it to the hood
latch area.
7.
Connect the hood latch cable (3) to the hood latch as
sembly (2).
8.
Connect the hood switch harness (1) to the hood latch
assembly (2).
9.
Position the hood latch assembly (2) to the upper ra
diator crossmember and loosely install the two bolts
(4) that secure the latch to the crossmember.
10. Align the hood latch assembly (2) to the upper radiator
crossmember using the reference marks made during
the removal procedure and tighten the bolts (4) to 11
N∙m (8 ft. lbs.).
11. Using the supplied tie wraps in the kit, secure the hood
switch take off harness to the existing vehicle harness
located under the upper radiator crossmember.
