LOADING NEW PROGRAM 

 

Equipment required: 

 

 

 

Interface lead (2x9 way D-type connector - one male, one female) approx. 2m long. 
 
386 (min) P.C. c/w floppy disc drive and 9 way D-Type serial port 
Software: MS-DOS 4.1 or higher 

 
PROCEDURE 
 
a.

 

At this point remove top cover from DELTA and plug in interface lead into 9 way 
D-type socket on rear of controller. Plug in other end of interface cable to 9-way 
serial port of P.C. 

 

b.

 

Switch on Delta and obtain 

`Exit to OP sys’

 menu - see menu structure 

diagram. 

 

c.

 

Select option 5 to allow manual loading of new program. Message on screen 
will change from AUTO to MANUAL. 

 

d.

 

Choose option 3 

`Load and Run’

 new program and to give screen display thus. 

 
S record load menu (38k) 
 
    Load address = $ 
 

e.

 

Switch on P.C. and obtain c:\> prompt in DOS if loading from hard disk or a:\> if 

loading from a floppy disk. 

 

f.

 

Send program to controller via the PC by entering 

 

‘send I.exe_<program name>’ 

 
At this point the message displayed on the screen will show the program loading onto 
controller and on completion will display completed message. 
 

g.

 

Press ‘esc’ key

 on keypad to return to 

‘Op sys’ menu

. 

 

h.

 

Press 6

 on main keypad 

to load program into flash memory

 - upon which the 

pointer  (shown  as  Ptr)  values  will  change  to  zero.  (If  unsuccessful  at  first  - 
retry). 

 

i.

 

Press 2

 on main keypad to 

‘run program’

 and return to main menu. 

Disconnect  the  9-way  D-type  connector  from  the  rear  of  the  controller  and 
replace top removable cover. 

 

NOTE:

  New programs can be copied to agent / service engineers via E-mail / modem communications
