Interface Connectors and Cables
MKS can supply interface cables, or you can make cables according to the following
specifications:
A. Shielded cable assemblies, in a nominal 10’ (3 m) length, with Type “D” connector
on one end and terminated in flying leads (pigtail) fashion on the other end.
B. Ribbon cable assemblies in a nominal 10’ (3 m) length, with properly keyed P. C.
Edge Card connector on one end and non-terminated on the other end.
Note
Units with Edge Card connectors or units that use flying leads are not CE
Mark compliant.
Note
1.
Metal braided, shielded cables are required to meet CE Mark
specifications.
2.
To order metal braided, shielded cables, add an “S” after the cable
type designation. For example, to order a standard cable to connect
the 1159 unit to a 246 readout, use part number CB259-5-10; for a
metal braided, shielded cable, use part number CB259S-5-10.
Note
1.
Use shielded cable assemblies, especially if the environment contains
high EMI/RFI noise.
2.
Be sure to provide adequate clearance for Type “D” cable assemblies:
•
Straight Shielded connectors require approximately 3” (76.2 mm)
height.
•
Right Angle connectors require approximately 2” (50.8 mm) height.
