The management CPU is connected to the switch fabric as an access port on the Infrastructure VLAN

The frame is sent out port 2 (because it is a trunk port that is a member of the Infrastructure VLAN).

Because the frame is on the Infrastructure VLAN, the tag is removed when it is put onto the fibre
media between NS40's.

The switch detects an untagged frame arriving on a trunk port and allocates it to the Infrastructure
VLAN.

The management CPU is connected to the switch fabric as an access port on the Infrastructure VLAN
so it receives the frame without a tag.
8.
When the management CPU responds, an untagged frame is sent to the switch fabric (since it is assigned
as an access port on the Infrastructure VLAN).
