3. USING HistoDream EW
3.1. Preparation
3.2. Operating screens
Under normal operating conditions, the screen may display different messages depending on the unit’s
status:
TIMER IN PROGRESS
This is displayed if the unit has been programmed to start up and stop
within a time frame that does not include the current time, or if the timer is
set to 00:00.
In this case, if you need to use the unit, it must be started manually by pressing the MANUAL MODE key
(refer to chapter 2.12.5 Automatic start-up and shutdown programming).
STAND BY IN PROGRESS
Programmed pause: this is displayed if the unit is programmed to remain on
standby between certain dates, including the current date (refer to chapter
2.12.6 Programming holidays).
HEATING PARAFFIN
PRESS ESC KEY
Heating mode: the wax storage cavity or another point requiring heating has
not reached the programmed temperature yet. If you need to enter any
other screen, press ESC

The display is lit up.
The equipment is operating according to the programmed settings (refer to
chapter 2.12.2 Temperature setting).
Press the UP or DOWN keys to display the following temperatures in sequence:
WAX: wax holding temperature in the cavity
AREA: work area temperature
VALVE: solenoid valve temperature (indirectly heated by the tube)
FRONT CHAMBER: temperature of the chamber for storing the cassettes ready for embedding
REAR CHAMBER: temperature of the chamber for storing the moulds ready for embedding
DUCT: temperature of the tube conveying wax from the storage cavity to the solenoid valve
AUXIL. TWEEZERS (if enabled): temperature of the optional tweezers if any (refer to chapter 6
OPTIONAL PARTS)
COLD MODULE: cold plate temperature
The dispensing and cold modules are independently connected to the power supply.
However, if connected together through the cold module control cable, both units are
controlled by the terminal located in the dispensing module. For this reason, it is
important for the cable connecting both units to be properly installed; to do so, refer to
chapter 2.4 Module connection.
After connecting both units to the power supply and making sure that the connection
cable has been properly installed:
Turn on the cold module first and then the dispensing module by pressing the power
switches on the rear of the units.
For the proper temperatures recommended by Milestone refer to chapter 2.12.2
