BaseBox series
Quick Setup Guide and Warranty Information for RB912UAG-5HPnD-OUT and RB912UAG-2HPnD-OUT
The Basebox is a solid and waterproof outdoor device based on the RB912 wireless router model.
It has high power wireless, and one Gigabit Ethernet connector, which support MDI-X auto
detection. The device has two RP-SMA connectors for connecting external antennas. The device is
packaged with a 24V power adapter, a PoE injector and two mounting loops. There are two
models available – one for 5GHz operation, and another for 2.4GHz operation, however both of
them have a miniPCIe slot for installing another wireless card. Extra places for more RP-SMA
connectors are available on the unit in this case.
First use
1.
Remove the lid, and connect the antenna to the RP-SMA connectors. Bend the cable
with a large radius, so that it will be able to exit through the cable openings in the
bottom of the lid. Put the lid back, with the small arrow to the front of the case
2.
Open the product bottom door, to reveal the Ethernet connector
3.
The device accepts 12-28V Passive PoE from a PoE injector (please compensate voltage
for loss due to cable length)
4.
The default IP address from Ether1 is 192.168.88.1 for configuration

5.
Depending on the antenna used, you must set its gain in the RouterOS software to ensure that EIRP meets the limit
set by authorities. This is done in the Wireless menu.
Powering
The board accepts powering from the Ethernet port (Passive PoE):
Ethernet port accepts passive Power over Ethernet 12-28V DC.
Package contains a 24V adapter and a PoE injector.
Maximum power consumption of the device is 12W at 24V.
Booting process
Connect to wireless SSID “MikroTik” and open

your SSID is password protected, use the serial number as the wireless password.

In case you wish to boot the device from network, for example to use MikroTik Netinstall, hold the RESET button of the device
when starting it until the LED light turns off, and Metal will start to look for Netinstall servers.
Mounting
To tighten the device to a pole, use the provided metal hose clamp. Guide the loop around the device through the provided
holes, and around the pole where it will be mounted. You should avoid connecting a loose Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port
- secure the cable to a wall or the pole, so that the cable weight is not pulling the port. It is recommended to secure the
Ethernet cable less than 2m from the device. This is to ensure that the cable doesn't damage the port by its weight, or doesn't
fall out. It is possible to connect grounding wires to the PCB board mounting holes, but to do this, you must remove the PCB
from the case.
Expansion Slots and Ports
Built in 2 or 5 wireless, 2x2 MIMO, AP/station/bridge modes supported
One 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port, supporting automatic cross/straight cable correction (Auto MDI/X), so you can
use either straight or crossover cable for connecting to other network devices. The Ethernet port accepts 8-30V DC
powering from a passive PoE injector.
