Miga log function
2.1 The Miga log screen
- File” displays the file name of the last saved file
with welding data. The file name consists of an
optional text and a continuous number that will be
automatically increased after each welding. The file
name can be changed under “Miga log settings”.
- ”Info” is an optional text that can be used for
description of the welded work piece. The text can
be changed under “Miga log settings”.
- ”Weld time” is the time measured from the arc
ignites to the arc extinguishes.
- ”Travel speed” is displayed as standard. This
parameter is the torch travel speed and is used for
calculation of the ”Heat input”. If a value has been
inserted under ”Seam length”, this value will be
displayed in stead of ”Travel speed”. ”Seam length”
is the length measured in meter and is used for
calculation of the “Heat input”
- ”Heat input” is the added energy per meter (kJ/m).
- ”Program” is the welding program used for the
weld.
- ”Current” is the measured average current value of
the entire welding.
- ”Wire speed” is the measured average wire feed
speed value for the entire welding.
- ”Voltage” is the measured average voltage value
for the entire welding.

Selection of weld seam length measured in meter
which is used for calculation of ”Heat input”.
The value ”Travel speed” is not used if the seam
length value has been inserted. Therefore, this is
an alternative to ”Travel speed”. More details can
be seen in the paragraph ”Miga log settings”.

2.2 Miga log-function on/off
The Miga log-function is activated by pressing the key
pad left to
and the graph-icon on the main screen
is switched to green. Please note that the icon in the
menu is switched to a stop symbol:
Welding measurements are saved on the SD-card for
each 100ms, when the Miga log is active. 2 files are
saved for each welding:
- A .dat-file with measurements of current, voltage,
wire feed speed and gas flow for each 100ms.
- A .txt-fil that contains information about the
welding machine and various average values based
on the welding.
Both files can be opened with a text editor-program
as e.g. Notebook. Alternatively, data can be imported
to e.g. Microsoft Excel.
