Adding detergent
Raise the detergent compartment lid
up and add detergent, fabric condi-
tioner, starch and chlorine to the cor-
rect compartment as follows:
i
= Detergent for the pre-wash
(if this option has been selected)
j
= Detergent for the main wash
p
= Fabric conditioner, texturisers or
liquid starch
y
= Liquid chlorine bleach.
If compartment
y
is never required,
the lid can be removed and replaced
by a permanent cover. This is available
to order from the Spare Parts Dept.
Water softeners
A water softener can be used to cut
down on the use of detergents in water
hardness ranges II - IV. Dispense ac-
cording to the amount specified on the
packaging. First add detergent and
then the water softener. Dispense the
detergent as required for soft water.
Washing with several
components
If you wash using several components
(e.g. special application detergents),
dispense the agents into compartment
j
: in the following order
1. Detergent
2. Water softener
3. Stain removers
This way the agents are distributed
more evenly.
Chlorine bleaching agents
y
Only use bleaching agents on textiles
with the symbol
y
on the wash care
label.
Chlorine bleaching agents must only
be added to the front compartment
marked with the symbol
y
. The agent
will then be dispensed automatically
during the 2
nd
rinse (cold bleaching).
Liquid bleaching agents should only be
used with coloureds if the textile manu-
facturer’s wash care label states that
the textile is colour fast and suitable for
bleaching.
For chlorine bleaching the 4
th
rinse
must be programmed. (See “Pro-
grammable functions”.
