Booster function
The rear left cooking zone is equipped
with a Booster function, i.e. an increase
to the power level.
If activated, this cooking zone will oper-
ate on power setting
9
with an extra
boost of power for a period of 5
minutes. This boost is intended for
quickly bringing large quantites of
water to the boil, e.g. when cooking
pasta.
Proceed as follows:
Switch the hob on.
Press the Booster function sensor
switch.
The display for the rear left cooking
zone shows power setting
9
, and the in-
dicator for the Booster function also
lights up.
After a period of 5 minutes the zone
automatically reverts to the normal
power setting
9
, and the Booster func-
tion indicator light goes out.
The Booster function can be cancelled
prematurely by:
– pressing the sensor switch for the
Booster function again,
– pressing the
-
sensor switch for the
rear left cooking zone.
This extra boost of energy is only avail-
able for the rear left zone by taking a
proportion of energy away from the
front left cooking zone. Whilst the Boos-
ter function is engaged the front left
zone will only operate at a maximum
power setting of
7
, even when a higher
setting e.g.
8
, is selected. To indicate
that this is happening an
8
flashes alter-
nately with a
7
in the display until the
Booster switches off.
Engaging the Booster also automati-
cally overrides any Auto heat-up func-
tion set for either of the two left hand
cooking zones.
Taking a pan off the zone whilst the
Booster function is in operation inter-
rupts the Booster function. It resumes
when the pan is placed back on the
cooking zone.
