Problem solving guide
Repairs to electrical appliances
must only be carried out by a suit-
ably qualified and competent per-
son to ensure safety. Unauthorised
repairs could be dangerous.
However, some minor problems can be
resolved as follows:
What to do if ...
... the hob or cooking zones cannot
be switched on
Check whether
– the pans in use are suitable.
– the child safety lock is activated.
If necessary, switch it off (see sec-
tion on “Child safety lock”).
– the house mains fuse has blown.
If none of the above is the case, then
disconnect the appliance from the elec-
tricity supply for approx. 1 minute. To
do this:
– switch off at the isolator or
– withdraw the mains fuse
Reconnect the appliance to the elec-
tricity supply and if the hob still does
not heat up, contact a qualified electri-
cian or the nearest Service Dept. (See
back page for address).
... a
ß
appears in the display for a
cooking zone
– Check whether the zone was
switched on by mistake without a
pan on it.
– Check whether the pan being used
is suitable for use on an induction
zone (see section “Suitable pans”).
... an
F
appears in the display for a
cooking zone
– The temperature sensor for that cook-
ing zone may be defective, or
– the cooking zone may have over-
heated due to a defect and automati-
cally switched itself off.
Do not use this cooking zone until it
has been repaired. Call the nearest Ser-
vice Dept. (See back page for ad-
dress).
... the hob switches off while it is in
use
One of the safety switch-off features
has been activated (see section on
“Safety switch-off” and "Overheating
protection").
