8.2. Making your own chips
Peel the potatoes and cut them into chips.
Soak the chips for about half an hour in water and then dry them carefully with kitchen paper.
Put the chips into a bowl with about half a tablespoon of oil and swill them about until they are evenly
covered in oil. Put the chips into a sieve to allow any excess oil to drip off.
Fill the food basket with the chips and ensure you do not exceed the maximum fill level and that no ex-
cess fat drips into the frying chamber.
Set the temperature and cooking time as given in the above table.
After half the cooking time has elapsed, shake the food basket to redistribute the chips and ensure an
even end result.
At the end of the cooking time, open the device lid by pressing both release buttons and remove the
food basket.
9. Cleaning
WARNING!
Live components There is a risk of electric shock.
Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. – If the device does fall into liq-
uid, under no circumstances should you attempt to touch it. Disconnect the mains plug
first!
WARNING!
Allow the device to cool down for at least a half an hour before cleaning. There is a risk
of burns!
• Disconnect the mains plug.
PLEASE NOTE!
Remove the food basket so that the device can cool down more quickly.
Do not use any rough or abrasive cleansing agents on or in the device housing as these can damage the sur-
faces.
• Clean the frying chamber and the food basket with a sponge and a little mild detergent. Rinse out the
containers and dry them.
PLEASE NOTE!
The frying chamber and food basket are dishwasher safe.
• Clean the inside of the device with hot water and soft sponge.
• If the heating elements have become dirty, use a washing up brush. Remove food residues carefully.
10. Decommissioning
If you do not plan to use the device for a long period of time, pull out the mains plug and store the device in
a dry location.
