4.2. Setting up the device
• Place the appliance on a heat-resistant, dry and level surface.
• Do not place the device on surfaces that can become hot (e.g. on hotplates, open flames).
WARNING!
Ensure that the device does not come into contact with any other objects during opera-
tion. Maintain a distance of at least 10 cm to other objects. Especially, do not set up the
appliance near easily flammable materials (curtains, drapes, paper, etc.). There is a risk
of fire.
• During operation, do not place the device under wall cupboards or other objects that could hin-
der the free upwards flow of steam.
• Do not cover the device.
• Do not place any objects on the device.
4.3. Mains
connection
• Only connect the hot air fryer to a properly installed AC 220–240 V~, 50/60 Hz safety plug socket
that has at least a 16 A fuse. Do not use extension cables and check before using the device that
the voltage given on the device corresponds with the local mains voltage.
• Remove the plug from the safety socket after each use, before every cleaning and during periods
when the device is unattended.
• When disconnecting the device from the mains supply, always pull on the plug rather than on
the cable.
• Do not kink or crush the mains cable.
• Ensure that the power cable is undamaged and does not run underneath the appliance or over
any hot surfaces or sharp edges.
• Lay the cable so that nobody is able to step on it or trip over it.
• The mains cable should not come into contact with the device or any other hot objects during
operation.
4.4. Initial operation and use
WARNING
Improper use can cause injuries and damage.
Therefore, follow the instructions below:
• During operation, the touchable surfaces on the device and accessories may become very hot.
During operation, only touch the device on the handles and operating elements! Use oven
gloves. There is a risk of burning.
• Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.
• Do not use the device outside.
• Never use the appliance if it has been damaged or if the mains cable or plug shows signs of dam-
age.
• Do not move the device while it is in use.
• Never move the heated device – always allow it to cool down completely.
• When you remove the lid during or after frying, there is a risk of burns as a result of escaping
steam. Do not hold your head directly over the device and never put your hands into this steam.
• During operation, the frying chamber gets very hot. Do not touch it. Use oven gloves. There is a
risk of burns!
• Never use the device in the vicinity of explosive and/or inflammable vapours.
• Remove burnt residues. Do not overbrown the food. Fry fresh potatoes at a temperature no high-
er than 180°C to avoid the development of harmful acrylamide.
• Always use the food basket for frying in the frying chamber so that the food does not burn.
