Waffles recipes
Basic waffles:
Ingredients : 80g butter, 60 g sugar, 1 package of vanilla sugar, 3 eggs, 3/8 l milk,
300g plain flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 tablespoon rum (optional).
Preparation : Gently mix butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs gradually adding
other ingredients. Finally add rum. The waffle mixture should be fairly thick but fluid
enough to drop off a spoon. Bake as advised and remove the waffle as soon as it is
done, using a wooden fork or something similar. Place the waffle on a wire rack.
Before serving dust the waffle with icing sugar.
Vanilla waffles with strawberries:
Ingredients : 150 g butter, 200g sugar, 4 eggs, vanilla pod, pinch of salt, 250 g plain
flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1-2 tablespoon canned milk, icing sugar.
Preparation : Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix it about 2 minutes with the mixer.
Finally add canned milk. Bake as usual.
Serve the waffles with strawberries and wiped cream and dust with icing sugar.
Cheese Waffles:
Ingredients : 200 g butter, 4 eggs, ½ teaspoon salt, 200 g plain flour, ½ teaspoon
baking powder, ½ cup of lukewarm water, 2 tablespoons of grated (more if you like)
cheese, paprika to flavour.
Preparation : cream butter, eggs and salt. Add flour and baking powder and
lukewarm water. Then add remaining ingredients and bake straight away.
Advice and tips for successful waffles
The waffle mixture should be fairly thick but fluid enough to drop off a spoon.
It needs practice!
Place the ready made waffles on a wire rack to cool down and then sprinkle with
icing sugar. If you prefer crispy waffles substitute the milk with water (lukewarm).
Milk makes waffles softer.
Use only best quality flour. You will get best results if all ingredients have the same
temperature and are thoroughly mixed. We recommend using very soft butter.
Waffles are consumed at their best when warm.
Cleaning and storing
Caution! Danger of electrical shock!
Unplug after use and before cleaning. Never
immerse the appliance into water. The connector parts must not get wet. Contact of
electrical parts with moisture causes short circuit and damage.
Caution! Danger of burning!
Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning
and storing it.
It is a normal that a darkening of the coating will occur over time.
It is necessary to clean this appliance after use as it comes into direct contact with food.
Wipe the housing with a damp cloth only and dry.
Clean the baking moulds with a soft brush while they are still lukewarm.
