Required Gas Pressure
The minimum inlet gas supply pressure for the purpose of input
adjustment is 7” of water column (w.c.) for natural gas.
The maximum inlet gas supply pressure is 10.5” w.c. for natural
gas.
A 1/8” NPT plugged tapping, accessible for test pressure
connection, must be provided immediately upstream of the gas
supply connection to the appliance.
Testing the Gas Supply System
The gas appliance and its required individual shut-off valve
must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system while
performing any tests of the piping system at pressures in excess
of 1/2 psig.
The gas appliance must be isolated from the gas supply
piping system by closing its individual manual shut-off valve
during any pressure testing of the gas supply piping system at
test pressures equal to or less than 1/2 psig.
This is accomplished by closing the gas supply line valve
required by NFPA 54.
