PB-8200-19

To tighten the main aprons, tighten the tensioner rod (Item 1)
on the spring loaded tensioners.Tighten to 5-1/2” compressed
length.

NOTE: There are three anchor holes on the clevis end of

the tensioner rod. Relieve tension and move the
clevis adjustment bolt (Item 2) to a to a hole closer
to the spring when adjuster bolt(s) reach
maximum travel.

NOTE: If adjuster bolt(s) reaches maximum travel,

remove equal links from each strand. Removable
links are provided in the chain.

Removable master links are included in each of the four
strands for shortening the chain after tightener travel is at its
maximum. Remove a link from each of the four strands at the
same time to assure proper timing, then re-adjust the clevis
adjustment bolt (Item 2) back out, and readjust the spring
tension to 5-1/2” compressed length (Item 1).

After repeated regular tightening of the main apron chain assemblies and when the return main apron slats begin to
“bottom-out” onto the top of the channel iron of the steel frame stringers, remove equal number of links from each apron
chain assembly. Readjust the spring loaded tensioner for

correct

main apron tension.

Adjust the fine adjustment bolt (Item 2) on the pivoting arm (Item 3) tightener as needed to equalize stretch in chain
strand pairs of each independent apron assembly.

NOTE: If uneven stretching of the chain is occurring from one side to the other side, adjust the fine adjustment

bolt on the pivoting arm tightener as needed to equalize the stretch in the chain strand pairs of each
independent apron assembly. The adjustment bolt is on the inside arm of the tightener. Loosen the chain
tension. Remove the set screw on the inside arm assembly. Tighten the bolt to take up more slack, loosen
the bolt to take up less slack on that side of the chain. Once done, reset the set screw. Tighten the chain
as previously stated.
