Routine Service and Maintenance

Do not over fill the hydraulic system. Damage to the hydraulic system might result.

f. Start the machine and run the engine at low idle for several minutes.  Shut off the engine.
g. Recheck the hydraulic fluid level as described above.

5. Drain and replace the final drive oil.

a. Rotate the track until the plugs (Items 1 and 2, 

Figure 4–22

on the side of the final drive 

cover plate are at the 3:00 and 6:00 position and shut off the engine.

b. Position a drain pan under the final drive.
c. Using an allen wrench, remove the lower plug (Item 1, 

Figure 4–22

and allow the oil to 

drain from the final drive. Remove the upper drain plug to allow air to enter the drive.

d. Start the engine and rotate the track until the plugs (Items 1 and 2, 

Figure 4–23

on the side 

of the final drive cover plate are at the 12:00 and 3:00 position and shut off the engine.

e. Add the proper oil through the upper plug opening until oil begins to run out of the oil 

level check plug opening.
