To remove and refit poly-V-belts

Special tool (vehicle tool kit)

Screwdriver

Assembly lever

Small lateral cracks appear in the poly-
V-belts after approximately 3,000 to
6,000 miles (5,000 to 10,000 km) of
normal use. It is not necessary to re-
place poly-V-belts that show small lat-
eral cracks.

Specialist technical knowledge is re-
quired to replace the poly-V-belts.

The maintenance work should always
be carried out by an authorised special-
ist workshop.

DaimlerChrysler recommends that you
visit a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre
as it has the necessary specialist
knowledge and tools for the work re-
quired. For work relevant to safety and
work on safety-related systems in par-
ticular, it is essential that maintenance
work is carried out at a qualified spe-
cialist workshop.
