CHILD
SEATS
Warning: A child in a rear-facing
child restraint on front passenger
seat will be seriously injured or
even killed if the front passenger
air bag inflates in a collision
which could occur under some
circumstances, even with
advanced air bag technology, we
therefore strongly recommend
that you always place a child in a
rear-facing child restraint in the
back seat.
Warning: Indicator lamp must
display PASS AIR BAG OFF when
a rear facing child restraint is
installed in the vehicle with the
child in it for it to be safe for the
child to be seated in the restraint.
If it is not illuminated with the
child seat installed with the child
in it, do not transport the child in
the front passenger seat.
Warning: The front passenger front
air bag may also be deactivated
if the system senses a front
passenger seat occupant as being
the weight of a small individual in
which case the PASS AIR BAG
OFF light will illuminate.
See Operator’s Manual for additional
warnings and information on the
operation of the OCS, air bags, seat
belts, child seats and child seat
LATCH system.
Warning: Children under 13
should be placed in the rear
seats whenever possible.
Regardless of seating position,
children under 13 must be seated
and properly secured in an
appropriate infant or child
restraint recommended for the
size and weight of the child.
Mercedes-Benz Occupant
