Problem Possible causes Remedy
• The machine is
not functioning or
malfunctioning.
• Plug is not properly plugged into
the power outlet.
• Defective plug.
• Worn carbon brushes.
• Mains fuse has blown
or tripped.
• Check plug connection,
connect the plug properly to the
power outlet.
• Use MENZER repair service.
• The machine produces
too much noise.
• The machine vibrates
too much.
• Driving disc or abrasive not
properly attached.
• Filler material or surface to be
sanded is too hard.
• Attach the driving disc and
abrasive firmly and centred.
• Vary the speed.
• Select other abrasive.

• The machine produces
too much dust.
• Inadequate suction.
• Clogged suction hose.
• Dust bag of the industrial
vacuum cleaner is full.
• Kink in the suction hose.
• Defective brush rim.
• Suction openings not in
same positions.
• Clean suction system.
• Empty the bag.
• Eliminate buckling.
• Replace the brush rim.
• Position suction openings in
same positions.
• Material removal is
too strong.
• Grit size of the abrasive is
too coarse.
• Select finer grit size.
• Poor or not ideal surface
quality throughout the
sanding zone.
• Incorrect or too coarse abrasive
grit size and/or incorrect abrasive.
• Filler material is not
completely dry.
• Filler material is too soft and/or
very high filler content.
• Select finer grit size and/or use
other abrasives. Please take note
of our abrasive overviews or seek
advice.
• Take note of the data sheets
and machining instructions of the
manufacturer of the filler material.
• Grooves in the
sanded surface.
• Driving disc set at an angle.
• Filler material is too soft.
• Set the driving disc on flat.
• Select finer grit size.
