7.5.3 Control Board (sCTRL) LED Indicators
The following types of LED indicators are located on the Vantage 8500 control board (one board
per chassis):

Indication
Description
Hot Swap
(Blue)
Indicates when the board can be extracted:
ON – indicates that the board can be extracted
OFF – indicates that the board cannot be extracted
Power (Green)
ON – indicates that all board voltage levels are operating normally
OFF – indicates a problem in board's power supply
Info (Green)
General purpose LED for management use; can be turned on and off per manager com-
mand (useful when trying to physically locate a specific Vantage 8500 switch).
SM Active
(Green)
Indicates the Subnet Manager status on a specific sMBE:
Blinking – indicates standby mode.
OFF – indicates that SM off (not in Standby or Active).
Subnet Manager is related to the multi-path master function (topology-related feature).
CM Active
(Green)
Indicates that the Chassis Management is running on the specific sMBE.
