1.2. Power cable and pressure lever ______________________________________________
The power cable should be plugged into a
230V/50Hz safety socket with earthing.
Then switch the power on (5). The MELAseal 100
will now warm up for about 2 minutes, and is ready
for use when the signal lamp (6) is no longer
illuminated.
The pressure lever can be inserted at either the
bottom right or bottom left side of the appliance.
1.3. Sealing temperature_________________________________________________________
The MELA
seal
®
100 has a very precise regulation
system for the sealing temperature, which is
adjusted by turning the temperature knob (8). With
the transparent packaging material such as
MELA
fol
®
most commonly used in autoclaves by
doctors and dentists (one side paper - one side foil
as described in DIN 58953 Part 4) the temperature
knob (8) should be set to the first third of the area
marked with "MELA
fol
®
". Turning the knob anti-
clockwise lowers the heating power, turning
clockwise increases it. As long as the same
packaging material is being used, it is then not
necessary to adjust the sealing temperature again
during the sealing operations.
The MELA
seal
®
100 package sealing device
produces seals of constant high quality when used
with transparent sterilisation packaging material. The
paper side should always be next to the sealing rail
(3). Tubular foil materials should not be used
because these tend to adhere to the sealing rail.
1.4. Wall mounting _____________________________________________________________
Holes are provided for wall mounting of the
MELA
seal
®
. These are 22 cm apart. The appliance
should only be mounted on load-bearing walls using
S 6 plugs.
