Even when the device is being used
properly, there always is a residual risk

• Contact with the unprotected sanding
or polishing surface (skin
abrasion/cut-wound)
• Parts flung off from parts of the
sanding or polishing surface (cut-
wound or blunt injury)
• Parts flung off from parts of the
material being machined (cut-wound
or blunt injury)
• Contact with sharp edges of the
surface being machined (cut-wounds)
• Damage to hearing if the prescribed
hearing protectors are not worn
(hearing loss)
• Inhalation of particles produced
during grinding deriving from sanding
or polishing surface material
• Contact with saw teeth being flung off
from the saw blade and saw blade
failure (cuts)
• Kickback and flung off parts of work
pieces (hurl)
• Loss of hearing if the required hearing
protectors are not used during work
• Contact with saw teeth in on-going
operation and during maintenance
work (cuts)
• Contact with electric current caused
by defective motor housing power
supply cable (electric shock)
• Emissions posing health risks from
wood dust
