GPT-467x CUTTER MOTOR
The cutter motor speed is adjustable via parameters. The cutter starts at 400 pps (adjustable with parameter 22,10) and
accelerates to 1,000 pps (can be set with parameter 22.1).
In backwards operation, the cutter accelerates from 400 pps to its maximum possible speed of 1,100 pps.
The following maximum speeds should not be exceeded depending on the paper thickness:
70 – 115 µm
:1,000 pps
120 – 140 µm
: 800 pps
140 – 160 µm
: 600 pps
160 – 190 µm
: 500 pps
The motor current is decreased during the cutter knife return in order to reduce the motor heating. The motor currents are
set in parameters 59,3 for cut and 59,5 for cutter knife return.
Please note that a parameter change can impair the printer functions.
At low voltages or low temperatures, the performance of the cutter is reduced. Below 16 V for HSP2208 (reference value
59) the maximum possible cutting speed is limited to 800 pps.
Below 0°C, both the start speed and the end speed are linearly lowered until theoretically -40 ° and below the process runs
at only 150 pps. This increases the motor current to 100%.

4.3.1 ERROR HANDLING
If the cutter knife returns to the home position too early or too late, the cutting speed is reduced to the starting speed and
the motor current is increased to 100%. Up to 20 repetitions are carried out. If then the cutter still fails to cut through, a
cutter jam is reported.
