Starting the engine
When starting a cold engine you need to press
the primer button 3 times. Wait two seconds
between each press.
1.
In normal use, set the throttle control lever
at FAST to run the engine at full speed.
2. Pull back the throttle to reduce engine
speed. Push the throttle control lever
forwards to increase engine speed.
3. Set the throttle control lever at STOP to
stop the engine.

Remove all debris and grass debris from
the machine. Debris can cause the engine
to overheat.

Set the throttle control lever at START or
FAST.

Open the fuel valve. The valve must be in
a horizontal position.

When starting a cold engine you need to
press the primer button 3 times. Wait two
seconds between each press.

Hold the starter cord handle firmly in your
right hand.

Pull the starter cord slowly until you feel
resistance. Now pull the starter cord
quickly. Hold the starter cord when it re-
winds - do not release it.

If the engine fails to start after pulling the
starter cord 3 times, press the primer
button twice and then pull the starter cord
again.

If the engine does not start after 5 or 6
attempts, read the section on
TROUBLESHOOTING.
NOTE: It is normal to see smoke coming from the engine after the first use.
Stopping the engine
Stop the engine by moving the throttle control lever to STOP.
Starting/stopping the trimmer head
Start the trimmer head by holding the safety
handle against the handle. Move the trimmer
control lever forward to engage the trimmer head.
Stop the trimmer head by releasing the safety
handle.
