Clearing up
The rotating fan effect of the line can be used for quick and easy clearing up. Hold the line parallel
to and above the area to be cleared up and move the machine back and forth. When cutting and
clearing up you should use full throttle to obtain the best results.
MAINTENANCE
Adjusting idle speed
Check that the air filter is clean. When the idle speed
is correct, the blade should not rotate. If adjustment is
required, the idle adjustment screw
T
must be turned
clockwise until the blade begins to rotate. Then turn the
screw anticlockwise until the blade stops. The idle speed
is correctly set when the engine runs smoothly in all
positions and there is a clear margin to the speed at which
the blade starts to rotate. Contact your service centre if the
idle speed cannot be adjusted so that the blade stops. Do
not use the machine until it has been correctly adjusted.
Contact your service centre if the mixture screw
L
and/or
the mixture screw
H
need adjusting.
Cleaning the air filter
1.
Remove the air filter guard and then the filter.
2.
Wash it with warm water and washing-up liquid.
3.
Check that the filter has dried out fully before
refitting.
The air filter must be regularly cleaned to remove dust and dirt in order to avoid:
– Carburettor malfunction
– Starting problems
– Loss of engine power
– Unnecessary wear to engine parts
– Excessive fuel consumption.
Clean the filter every 25 hours, or more regularly if conditions are exceptionally dusty.
An air filter which has been used for a long time cannot be completely cleaned. The filter must
therefore be replaced at regular intervals. A damaged air filter must always be replaced.
