Torque adjustment
The torque adjustment (1) is used to set drilling depth and screw driving depth. The adjustment knob for
torque has 16 positions. Position 1
– little torque for small screws and soft material; position 16 – large
torque for large screws and hard material. The clutch slips at the set torque. This is useful when several
screws are to be screwed to the same depth in the same material.
Start with the lowest setting and practise until you find a suitable torque. Practise on a piece of waste
material if possible.
Starting/stopping
Check that the battery pack is installed in the drill.
Start the tool by pressing the power switch (2).
The tool speed is controlled by how far the switch is pressed in. Pressing harder produces a higher
speed.
For rotation to the right, move the direction of rotation selector (3) to the right.
For rotation to the left, move the direction of rotation selector to the left.
When the drill is not in use, the direction of rotation selector must be in Neutral (in the middle) to prevent
the tool starting to rotate by accident.
Operating the drill
Check that the drill/screwdriver bit is correctly inserted. Hold the drill/screwdriver bit firmly against the
workpiece when you press the switch. Otherwise the workpiece and/or the drill/screwdriver bit can be
damaged. Always check that the drill is set to the correct direction of rotation before using it. When you
release the switch, an automatic brake system stops the chuck rotating.
Drilling
Do not use the torque setting when drilling in wood. Use the drilling setting instead.
Use a wood drill for drilling in wood.
Use a metal drill for drilling in metal or plastic.
Use maximum speed when drilling in soft wood.
Use a low speed when drilling in hard wood.
Always drill with the direction of rotation to the right.
Screw driving
Check the torque setting. Start with the lowest torque setting and increase until the screw has been
screwed in to the required depth. Practise on a piece of waste material if possible.
Screw driving should be performed at low speeds.
Place the screwdriver bit in the screw head and screw the screw carefully into the hole.
Release the switch immediately when the clutch begins to slip.
