Keep the power tool properly maintained. Make sure that moving parts are properly adjusted and
do not jam and that no parts are damaged. Check for other factors that could affect the operation of
the power tool. If damage is found, the power tool must be repaired before it is used again. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Cutting tools that are maintained correctly and have sharp
edges jam less frequently and are easier to control.
Use power tools, accessories, bits, etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account
actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools
for purposes other than those intended.
Battery-powered tool use and care
Make sure the power switch is in the OFF position before inserting the battery pack. If the battery
pack is inserted in the power tool when the power switch is in the ON position, there is a risk of
damage.
The battery may only be charged with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is
suitable for one type of battery pack can pose a fire risk if used with another battery pack.
Only use power tools with specifically designed battery packs. Use of other battery packs may pose
a fire or injury hazard.
When the battery pack is not being used, it must be kept away from other metal objects such as
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal objects that can form a connection
between two terminals. If the battery terminals are short-circuited, burns or fire can occur.
Failure to handle the battery with due care and attention could cause acid to leak from the battery.
Avoid contact with this acid. Rinse thoroughly with water if you come into contact with acid. Seek
medical attention if you get battery acid in your eyes. Acid leaking from the battery can cause
irritation or burns.
Service
The power tool may only be serviced by qualified service personnel using identical spare parts.
This ensures that the power tool remains safe.
Further safety regulations for drills
Do not use power tools in damp or wet areas.
Keep the work area free from tripping hazards.
Always wear appropriate safety equipment when working with a drill, including eye protection,
hearing protection, dust mask, gloves and an apron.
Always check the workpiece before you begin. Remove any nails, staples, screws, string, cloths,
pieces of fabric, etc.
Always secure the workpiece with clamps or a vice.
Before drilling, always check that there is space under the workpiece, so that the drill does not
come into contact with any obstacles.
Check that there is no risk of the drill coming into contact with electrical cables, gas or water pipes,
or similar items when drilling in walls.
Never change the chuck's direction of rotation while the tool is rotating. Wait until the chuck has
stopped completely before changing the direction of rotation.
Do not put the tool down until it is switched off and the chuck has stopped completely.
Keep hands and other body parts away from the work area while the tool is in operation.
Keep hands away from the underside of the workpiece when working.
Do not use your hands to remove dust, shavings or other waste while the tool is in operation.
Do not touch the drill/bits after use. The drill/bits may be hot and can cause burns.
If you need to use an extension cord, ensure that it has the correct amperage for the power tool
and is safe to use.
If the extension cord is wound on a drum, you must unroll it fully to avoid overheating.
Further safety regulations for chargers
Before you use the charger, you must read all the instructions and warnings on the charger and
battery pack, as well as the instructions for using the battery pack.
Check that the power source satisfies the requirements specified on the charger adapter type plate.
The charger is intended for indoor use
– only charge the batteries indoors.
DANGER. Do not place the battery pack in the charger if the battery pack is cracked or damaged.
Risk of electric shock!
WARNING.
Never allow water to come into contact with the charger. Risk of electric shock!
