workpiece. Make sure there is a sufficient gap
between the tip of the drill and the top of the
workpiece.
POSITIONING THE WORKPIECE
Always put a wooden pad (Y1) between the
workpiece and the table. This reduces the
risk of the workpiece cracking or splintering
when the drill breaks though the bottom of
the workpiece. To prevent the pad rotating it
should be placed so that it rests against the left
side of the column.
FIG. 21
WARNING!
If the workpiece or shim is too short to reach
the column, fasten it to the table. Otherwise
there is a risk of personal injury.
NOTE:
Small workpieces, which cannot be fastened
to the table, can instead be clamped in the
machine vice (accessory).
The vice must be screwed or clamped to the
table, so that neither the vice nor workpiece
can start to rotate and cause personal injury or
damage the machine and tool.
USING THE LASER
Put the laser switch (6) in position I to start
the laser. Two laser lines are projected on the
workpiece. The intersecting point between
these lines marks the centre of the drill.
Put the laser switch (6) in position 0 to
switch off the laser.
FIG. 22
ADJUSTING THE LASER
Undo the screws (Z) a little to enable the
laser to be adjusted. Tighten the screws after
adjusting. Warning: Do not look into the laser
beam.
FIG. 23
ADJUSTING THE ANGLE OF
THE TABLE
1. Undo the hex screw (W) under the table
(1).
2. Turn the table (1) to the required angle.
3. Tighten the hex screw (W) to lock the
table (1) at the required angle.
FIG. 17
FIG. 18
NOTE:
The angle scale (X2) only gives a rough
indication of the angle. A precision angle
gauge is required for precision work.
ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT OF
THE TABLE
1. Undo the handle clamp screw (12).
2. Lift or lower the table to the required
height by twisting it slightly from side to
side.
3. Tighten the handle clamp screw (12).
FIG. 19
FASTENING A WORKPIECE
Workpieces should normally be fastened to
the table with a machine vice or other suitable
clamp.
FIG. 20
NOTE:
Never hold the workpiece by hand.
The workpiece should be able to move on
the surface of the table (1) to self-centre. The
workpiece must be safely locked to prevent
rotation. This is best achieved by placing the
workpiece or machine vice against a stable
fence.
WARNING!
Sheet metal parts must be fully clamped,
otherwise they can be torn. Adjust the correct
height and angle for the table for each
