USE
INTENDED USE
The chain sharpener is intended to be used
to sharpen chains for chainsaws. The chain
sharpener is not intended for commercial use.
WARNING!
When inserting and adjusting the chain in
the chain sharpener the power cord must be
unplugged from the mains.
CHECKING THE SAW CHAIN
Check that the chain is not damaged before
sharpening it. The chain must not be bent,
broken or have loose or damaged rivets.
Broken teeth will cause the chain to cut at an
angle when sawing. Unevenly sharpened teeth
will cause vibrations.
FIG. 4
RAKERS
After the teeth on the chain have been
sharpened the rakers need to be filed down a
little by hand, but to avoid damaging the newly
sharpened cutting edges file down the rakers
first. It is important to file all the rakers to the
same extent. Use a tool rest to get the same
height on all the rakers.

SHARPENING
Start by sharpening all the left or right teeth.
This means that every other tooth is sharpened
before resetting the angle. Sharpen as follows:
1.
Start by cleaning the chain with a non-
flammable detergent.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use petrol or other flammable
substances.
2.
Allow the chain to dry.
3.
Put the grinding disc in the raised
position.
4.
Lift up the chain stop and secure the
chain.
5.
Lower down the chain stop so that it
locks the link to be sharpened.
6.
Release the lock knob and set the
required angle. The angle is given on
the chain's packaging.
7.
Lock the angle with the lock knob.
8.
Slowly move down the grinding disc
onto the link and set the grinding
depth.
9.
Lock the saw chain in the holder.
10.
Test sharpen a few links and reset the
grinding depth if necessary.
TEETH
It is important that all the teeth are sharpened
equally. The teeth must not look like those
shown in the diagram after sharpening.
Sharpen enough to make sure that all the
teeth are sharpened. Too much sharpening
will grind off an unnecessary amount of the
chain and there is a risk of burning the teeth.
Burning the teeth will damage the temper of
the steel. Set the amount of sharpening with
the grinding stop.

MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
The machine must be unplugged from the
mains before doing any maintenance.
