8.11. Connecting an external playback device
You can use the
AUX IN
jack to connect an external playback device (for example a
CD player or MP3 player).
Switch the alarm clock to standby mode.
Switch off your external device.
Plug the end of a 3.5 mm jack cable (not supplied with the device) into the
AUX
IN
socket on the back of the alarm clock.
Connect the other end of the cable to your external device.
Switch on your external device and, if necessary, the alarm clock.
Press the
M
button once or several times until you see
AUX
on the display. The
audio signal from your external device will now be played back.
8.12. Amazon Alexa® voice control
Amazon Alexa
®
voice control is only available in some countries.
To access voice control mode, first select WLAN mode.
Press the
M
button repeatedly until the
symbol appears on the display.
8.12.1. Initial setup of the voice control
The initial setup of the device takes place via an app that must be installed on your
smartphone. This enables you to configure the settings to activate the voice control.
First, install the
Medion Speaker
app on your smartphone. This is available free
of charge from the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Android).
Once the app has been installed on your smartphone, proceed as follows to contin-
ue the voice control setup process:
Press and hold the
M
button on the alarm clock to access configuration mode.
An announcement will sound and the
symbol will start to flash.
Search for network-enabled devices in the WLAN settings on your smartphone.
The
MD 43970
clock radio now appears in the list.
Select the device
MD 43970
and connect it to your smartphone.
You will hear an indication that the devices have been connected successfully and
you should continue to follow the app instructions.
Open the
Medion Speaker
app on your smartphone. The app searches for a
Wireless HiFi system and will display the device found.
Add a device.
