8. Getting started
8.1. Operation using the controls on the device or
remote control
You can activate the main play functions on your audio system using the buttons
on the device. In addition to the basic controls, the remote control also provides nu-
merous other options for using all functions of your device.
In these instructions, we refer to the remote control buttons. If reference is made to
the controls on the device itself, this will be clearly indicated.
8.2. Switching on the device/standby

First switch on the mains switch on the back of the device and move it to posi-
tion

Press the button to switch on the device.

Press the button again to switch the device back into standby mode. The
time will be displayed.
When the device is switched on for the first time or if the device has
been disconnected from the mains,
SYNC... is shown on the display.
This automatically stores stations in FM and DAB mode. The process will
complete after a few seconds.
8.3. Dimming the display brightness
Press the button on the remote control once or several times to dim the display
brightness in increments.
8.4. Setting the menu language

Press and hold the MENU button until the menu opens.

Turn the controller and select SYSTEM , then press the controller to con-
firm the selection.

Turn the controller and select
LANGUAGE
, then press the controller to con-
firm the selection.

Now turn the controller to select the desired language.

Then press the controller to confirm the selection.
The menu language is now set.
8.5. Adjusting the aerial

Pull out the telescopic aerial on the back of the device completely.
The aerial should be fully extended to ensure good signal reception and
sound quality.
