21.7. Storage when not in use
Store the notebook in a cool, dry place if you are not going to use it for an extended
period of time and make sure that it is protected from dust and extremes of
temperature.
Remove the battery from the device if you are not going to use it for an
extended period of time and store the battery in a cool, dry place.
Remove all media from the USB slots.
Remove all cables and connected peripheral devices.
When the notebook is not in use, we recommend storing it in a bag to
protect it from dust and dirt.
21.7.1. Battery Protection
NOTICE!
Loss of data!
Unintentional or random changes to UEFI settings may
affect the stable and safe operation of the system
.
Changes must only be carried out by specialists or
very experienced users.
If you cannot use your laptop for a longer period of time (e.g. you go on holiday)
activate the automatic battery protection manually in your device’s UEFI. This
protects your battery from fully discharging.
In the UEFI you will find the
Shipping Mode
option under the
Exit
menu option.
Select the
Shipping Mode
option with the arrow keys.
Confirm the selection with
Enter
.
The notebook closes down.
Unplug the notebook from the mains.
Keep the on/off switch pressed briefly.
The notebook is now in transport mode. Read more about this in the „Transport
Mode“ chapter.
22. Upgrading/Modifying and Repair
Upgrades and modifications to your notebook should only be carried out by
qualified specialists. If you do not have the necessary qualifications, have the work
carried out by a qualified service technician. Please contact your customer service
department if you have technical problems with your notebook.
