Where possible, always connect your peripheral devices to the same
port that they were originally installed on. Otherwise they will be as-
signed a new ID and the drivers will need to be reinstalled.
4.5. Connecting audio output/ headphones/ speakers*
You can connect active speakers for playback or an audio connection cable for re-
cording to these connections. Read the operating instructions for your stereo sys-
tem to see which input you need to use (usually Line in or Aux).
Plug the cable into the green socket on the back of the PC using the 3.5 mm ste-
reo jack plug.
4.5.1. Connecting the headphones
Plug the cable into the marked socket on the front of the PC using the 3.5 mm
stereo jack plug.

Damage to hearing!
Listening to a device at high volumes when using head-
phones or earphones and changing the basic settings
of the equaliser, the driver, the software or the operat-
ing system creates excessive sound pressure and can
result in damage to and/or loss of hearing.
Before pressing play, set the volume to the lowest
setting.
Start playback and increase the volume to a comfort-
able level.
4.5.2. PCs with surround sound ( Surround)
Connect a surround sound system as follows:
Insert the cable for the front speaker into the
green socket
.
Connect the speakers for the rear sound to the
blue socket
.
Connect a central speaker or subwoofer to the
pink socket
.
Connect an additional speaker for the rear sound area to the
black socket
.
Various surround sound speakers can also be connected depending on the connec-
tions available.
