Towing with Trucks
If you intend to tow your caravan with a truck or heavy commercial vehicle you should fit a hitch system to minimise
the lash effect of the commercial suspension and distance from the rear axle to the tow point. Truck suspension can
be harsh, particularly in off road conditions. The long distance between the axle centre and the point of attachment
can be quite long further exacerbating the effect putting stress on components.
Using a shock absorbing hitch will reduce the effect considerably.
Hitch
Your camper is fitted with an ADR compliant Polyblock Off-Road hitch. It is important to maintain and inspect the
hitch regularly as per the maintenance schedule. The hitch should be attached to the vehicle tow bar as pictured
with the spring loaded “T” pin in place and the “R” clip inserted below. Always use the correct size tongue so that the
Polyblock receiver cannot twist or rotate on the tongue.
