Please read all the instructions before using this device; they contain important informa-

tion on its correct operation.

•   All those using the equipment must comply with the relevant national, statutory accident prevention regula-

tions for  electrical equipment.

•   This product may only be assembled, started up and operated by suitably quali

fi

 ed professionals and only

in compliance with the requirements stated in this operating manual.

•   Adjustments or maintenance should only be carried out by trained professionals who are aware of the

dangers. Improperly executed adjustments might result in dangerous laser radiation.

•  For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversions and/or modi

fi

cations to the product are not permitted.

•   Before the product is

fi

rst put into operation, the operator must notify the responsible accident insurer and

the public authority responsible for occupational health and safety (generally the industrial inspectorate)

and name a person who will be accountable for laser safety.

•   When operating the laser equipment, always make sure that the laser beam is directed so that no one is in

the projection area and that unintentional re

fl

 ected beams (e.g. from re

fl

 ective objects) cannot be directed

into areas where people are present.

•   Laser radiation can be dangerous, if the laser beam or its re

fl

 ection enters unprotected eyes. Therefore,

before using the laser equipment, familiarise yourself with the statutory regulations and instructions for

operating such a laser device.

•   Never look into the laser beam and never point it at people or animals. Laser radiation may result in injuries

to the eyes or skin.

•   Do not point the laser beam at mirrors or other re

fl

 ective surfaces. The uncontrolled, re

fl

 ected beam may

strike people or animals.

•  Never leave the laser in operation unattended.
•  If possible, restrict the range of radiation by using screens or partitions.
•  Mark the range of the laser by barriers or by using warning signs.
•  Wherever possible, direct the laser in such a way that it does not cross eye level.
•

Caution: if operation settings or procedures others than those described here in these instructions

are used, this could lead to exposure to dangerous radiation.

•   This product is provided with a Class 3R Laser. Laser signs in different languages are included in the pack-

age. If the sign on the laser is not written in the language of your country, please af

fi

 x the appropriate sign

onto the laser.

•   Never look directly into the laser beam when the device is in operation. The intense light rays could tem-

porarily impair your eyesight. Moreover, they may trigger epileptic seizures for vulnerable persons. This

applies in particular to epileptics.

•  The device contains no parts that should be serviced by the user. Therefore, do not open the device.
•  As power supply, only use the supplied mains adaptor.
•   Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply. Before plugging

in the power adaptor, check whether the voltage stated on the power adaptor complies with the voltage of

your electricity supplier.

•  Never connect or disconnect power adaptors if your hands are wet.
•   Never unplug the power adaptor from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use the grips on the

plug.

•  For safety reasons, disconnect the power adaptor from the mains socket during storms.

 °

•   The device is not a toy. Children and adolescents cannot judge the dangers of electrical devices and lasers.
•   Do not leave packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for children.
•   Inspect the laser unit from time to time for damage. Should the laser unit or the power supply unit show any

damage, disconnect them from the power supply (unplug the power supply unit). Do not use the product

afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.

•   Never pour  liquids over electrical appliances and never leave objects

fi

lled with liquids (e.g. vases) in the

vicinity of the device. You run the risk of causing a

fi

re or a fatal electric shock. If liquids enter the device,

immediately disconnect it from the power supply, unplug the power supply unit from the mains and consult

an expert.

•   Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or water sprays, strong vibrations or heavy

mechanical stress.

•  Do not place naked

fl

ames, such as burning candles, on or close to the device.

•   Do not leave the device in operation when it is unattended. For safety reasons, unplug from the mains

socket after each operation.

•  Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
•   If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are not answered

in these operating instructions, please contact our technical advisory service or another specialist.

Installation

The assembly and the installation of the device must be carried out by a specialist who

is familiar with the hazards and the relevant regulations. Repairs, operation and mainte-

nance of the product may only be carried out by quali

fi

 ed personnel.

When selecting the location for installing your device, take care that it will not be sub-

jected to shaking, vibrations, dust, heat, cold or moisture. Furthermore, keep the prod-

uct away from strong transformers or motors.

The device must be mounted out of normal reach.

When installing the product ensure that the power supply unit‘s power cord is not

jammed or damaged by sharp edges.

During installation and service work, the area below the installation location must be

cordoned off.

The installation surface or the mounting

fi

xture must be designed, so as to withstand 10

times the payload for at least 1 hour without permanently damaging deformation.

It is also essential that the device is secured by means of a second safety restraint,

which is independent of the proper mounting supports, when it is installed in an

elevated position. If the main supports fail, no part of the installation should be able to

fall down.

All the relevant regulations in this regard must be observed exactly when the device is

being installed.

Keep a free area of 15 cm around the housing to ensure unhindered heat dissipation.

Otherwise, the laser may overheat.

Highly

fl

ammable materials, such as decorative fabrics must be kept at least 50 cm away

from the device. Otherwise, such materials may catch

fi

 re!

Installation approval:

Before using for the

fi

rst time and after any signi

fi

 cant modi

fi

cations, the installation (including the electrical

connections) must be checked by a specialist.
An annual check by a technical expert is required.
At least every four years, an acceptance inspection must be carried out by a technical expert.

Installation on the stand

•   Screw the tripod to the tripod socket on the bottom of the housing. Secure the

fi

 xture by tightening the

counter nut (knurled head screw) to the tripod.

•   Set the incline angle of the stand as desired and tighten the clamping screws on the joints.

Installation with a mounting bracket

•   Install the laser effect device using a mounting bracket on the ceiling, the wall or on a suitable crossbeam.

When installing it, make sure that the device cannot swing freely .

•   Secure the device with fastenings that are compatible with the fastening surface and suitable for carrying

the weight of the light effect device.

•   Secure the installation with an additional suitable safety restraint cable or net. The safety restraint cable or

net must be able to support the light effect device in the event of a fault in the main support system.

•   Set the desired angle of inclination and tighten the two bracket locking screws carefully to the housing.
