Modes of Operation
DMX Mode
In this mode of operation, the effect light is controlled by the external DMX controller.
Only connect the device to a DMX controller with a DMX-512 protocol.
You can operate a maximum of 32 devices in a DMX chain. Operating more that 32 devices
will overload the controller.
The total length of the DMX chain should not exceed 500m.
The use of XLR microphone cables can cause interferences in the DMX signal
transmission. In this case, please use special DMX high-frequency cables.
• Connect the DMX IN input to the DMX controller output.
• Use a screened XLR cable. The controller must have at least 6 free control channels.
• Connect the DMX OUT output to the DMX IN input of the next device in sequence. If the light effect is the
last or only device in the DMX chain, insert a plug with a 0 Ohm/0.25 W terminator here (between Pin2 and
Pin3).
Pin assignment of the DMX connection: Pin1 = ground / Pin2 = (-) / Pin3 = (+)
Never connect the ground pin (GND) to the casing of the effect light, which might result in interference
in signal transmission caused by ground loops.
