d) Connecting the power supply
The mixer and all connected devices must be switched off.
Make sure that all electrical connections and connection cables between the different
devices and any extension cables comply with the regulations and the operating
instructions.
•
Plug the small connector of the provided mains cable into the power supply (48).
•
Plug the mains cable into a mains socket.
Using the device
Do not turn on the device before you have read and understood these operating
instructions. Check again that all connections are correct.
Not observing the following sequence when switching the mixer on and off could
damage the loudspeakers or the amplifier.
•
Check again that all connections are correct.
•
Turn the channel fader, the headphone, TRIM and BOOTH LEVEL controllers and the MASTER FADER of
the mixer to the minimum.
•
Switch on the signal sources such as record players, CD players, cassette decks etc.
•
Completely turn down the volume control of the connected amplifier.
•
Switch on the mixer using the POWER switch.
•
Switch on the amplifier.
•
Select the input on the amplifier to which the mixer is connected (e.g. AUX).
•
Take a piece of music from your normal program and set a normal level for the signal source. Make sure that
no device of the system is overmodulated.
•
Turn up the volume control of the connected amplifier to approx. 50% - 75%.
•
Select the channels to be played back with the input channel switch.
•
Set the input level on the mixer using the TRIM controls and the CHANNEL FADER.
•
Use the MASTER fader and the BOOTH LEVEL control to set the output level at the outputs of the mixer.
•
Make sure that the connected loudspeakers and the amplifier are not overloaded. The sound should never be
distorted. If needed, adjust the output signal using the MASTER fader and the BOOTH LEVEL control.
If there are distorted music signals even though the volume on the amplifier has not been
set too high and the mixer has been set correctly, switch off the mixer immediately and
check the connection.
