Dry as much of the individual as you can
before removing them from the tub by leaning the individual forward
and towel dry their back side and inside of the tub area behind the individual. Lift each leg and towel dry the
underside of the legs/top of the seat, under legs and feet/foot well area under feet.
13.
Transfer the Individual out of the Tub:
With the individual properly secured with the Security Belts, use the Hand
Lift Control to raise the Lift by pressing the Up Button while grasping the chair Bar to prevent the chair from
rotating. When it reaches the minimum height as indicated, rotate the Lift out of the tub until it is fully out. Then,
press the Down Button in the Hand Lift Control until it is at its lowest position.
CAUTION:
Failing to bring the Lift to its fully out position can damage the Lift Chair and the actuator.
14.
Transferring the Individual from the Lift Chair:
Remove the chest and lap Security Belts from the individual.
Transfer the individual out of the Lift Chair using appropriate ergonomic transfer techniques or with a modern
lift/transfer device per facility protocol. (See
Adjusting the Entree Tub For Lift/Transfer Devices
on page 30.)
After the individual is standing, towel dry their posterior area as needed. After appropriate procedures are used
to dress or cover the individual, complete the transfer of the individual into the wheelchair if required, back to
the bedroom, etc.
Note
: If lift devices such as sit-to-stand lifts or sling lifts are used, follow recommended manufacturer
procedures.
