3.10 TRANSPORTING
Mandako Reddi-Arms are designed to be easily and
conveniently moved from field to field. When transporting,
follow this procedure:
1. Clear the area of bystanders, especially small
children.
2. Be sure the Reddi-Arm is properly attached to the
tractor (see section 3.7).
3. Be sure the mower is properly attached to the Reddi-
Arm (see section 3.8).
4. Drive forward and centre Reddi-Arm and mower
straight behind the tractor.
5. Make sure the mower is ready for transport. Refer to
mower manual.
a. Raise mower wings using mower wing lift circuits
and optional selector valve control box.
b. Raise mower deck using the mower deck
hydraulic circuit.
6. Using the steering axle circuit make sure the axle is
straight and then place the hydraulic circuit in float.
7. Engage the steering axle lock and turn off the
steering hydraulic circuit.
8. Keep to the right and yield right-of-way to allow faster
traffic to pass. Drive on shoulder of road if permitted
by law.
9. Make sure the SMV (Slow Moving Vehicle) emblem
and all lights and reflectors that are required by local
highway and transport authorities are in place, clean,
and can be seen clearly by all overtaking and on-
coming traffic.
10. It is not recommended that the machine be
transported faster than 32 km/h (20 mph). Table
1 gives acceptable transport speed as the ratio of
Reddi-Arm weight to tractor weight.
11. Do not allow riders on the machine.
12. During periods of limited visibility, use pilot vehicles
and extra lights on the machine.
13. Always use hazard flashers on the tractor when
transporting unless prohibited by law.
